We are KYFR

The Kyiv Youth Federation of Robotics is a community of ambitious and goal-oriented people whose mission is the development of robotics, its accessibility, and engaging youth in it.

We began developing in the field of robotics back in 2018 and have personally experienced how interesting it is and that there is indeed a great future in it. After accumulating enough skills and knowledge, in 2020, we decided to focus more on this matter and create our own public organization — KYFR!

What do we do?

Among all the activities of the organization, three main areas stand out, which we consider the most effective in achieving our goals: creating and organizing teams, STEM hubs, and holding events.

As the name suggests, this area is about creating robotics teams, assisting, organizing, and finding funding for them. Our teams participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition, the largest robotics competition in the world. We strive for our teams to become the first Ukrainian teams in history to win regional FRC competitions and then the main championship in the USA!

What is FRC?

FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) is an international robotics competition for high school and college students. Annually, more than 97,000 participants, 3,900 teams from 34 countries worldwide take part in FRC and compete in regional stages of these countries to qualify for the championship in Detroit or Houston, USA.

The number of participants in a single team can reach up to 50 people, and the annual budget averages $25,000. Every year, only 8 weeks are given to build a robot weighing up to 54 kg that will perform complex industrial tasks. Each team also dedicates itself throughout the year to developing STEM in their community, region, or even country.
